Not shy about forming a new relationship, that is. I'm actually kind of shy about meeting people, which is why I'm here. I've been a language guy all my adult life, working in publishing, then teaching English, and modestly successful as a writer. I'm retired now, but I make a very small amount of money reviewing audiobooks. I have a daughter who no longer lives with me, and a dog and three cats who do still live here. I still think of myself as a misplaced New Yorker, although I moved out of Manhattan thirty years ago (upstate, then to Tennessee twenty years ago). My MFA (from Goddard) is in fiction, but I mostly write poetry now (plus those reviews). I've published poetry, a few short stories, a collection of essays, and one novel. I mostly read fiction that has shown some longevity, and history about the U.K. and U.S. The most recent biography I read was about Moe Berg, maybe the only major league baseball player who served as an agent for the OSS.
