Looking to make a friendly connection and see where it goes. I like good conversation and, though I prefer someone who is interested in writing and/or the arts in general, I am open to get to know someone who may not be as like-minded. Although I am basically an introvert, I want to make an effort to open myself up more and broaden my social sphere.
I've mostly written poetry but am currently trying my hand at fiction. (The poetry writing hasn't been going that well recently.) It would be great to interact with someone who's also going through the trials and errors of the writing life. I would also be interested in meeting someone who loves eading, as I do.
I am not a full-time writer; I have a day job, of course. I work in an academic setting, which I enjoy, for the most part.
In addition, I enjoy live theatre, some opera and hanging out at museums. I'm also happy just hanging out and relaxing, enjoying the company of someone I like. I'm picky about movies, but do enjoy some indies,comedies, historical dramas, etc.---hate graphic violence. I think most folks would consider me a bit of a home body, although I do love to travel whenever I have the chance.
This may seem odd, given I'm definitely the artsy type, but I also like football. My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, so I'm heart heavy right now. But I also like the Giants, 49ers and Colts. Currently, I'm probably spending more time than I should watching the playoffs. I also enjoy watching basketball, but not as much as football.
I am health conscious and definitely watch what I eat; however, I struggle with keeping an exercise regimen, but I'm working on it.
