Professional writer who also blogs Writing isn't compelling to me, it is what I do. It is also what I'm best at, even when I'm not trying. Not that I'm the equivalent of F. Scott Fitzgerald (I wish), but non-writers always marvel at how easily I write anything from emails to essays.

I honestly wish I could get paid to write about what I love, but there's a sad shortage of that. So right now, I'm a technical writer for a bank. I live in NYC.

It is great having this interest in common with men, and I am hoping for more, such as loving animals, wine, and traveling. Now that those things are said...

I'm intelligent and complex. I'm also not the type of woman to put everything out there for you like an open book. Are any of us writers so extroverted that we do that? I'm not sure.

I believe in being polite with others, whether it is at work or with a waiter at the table. To be honest, I also take a firm hand if the person I'm polite with takes advantage of that. It is a fine balance for me to keep, but it is important to me.

Of course I like to read, but I enjoy company as well. If I have the choice of socializing or reading, and I like the people, I socialize. My family is important to me -- my sister and her family live in California, and I see them twice a year, three times if I'm lucky. My mother lives in NYC also, and I see her regularly. I also see my aunt in NYC and cousin in NJ from time to time. It won't interfere with dating time, but a man needs to respect that.

I'm looking for someone who wants to share a good life together. I feel that I have a lot of life to live, and I intent to get the most out of it. Workaholics need not apply.
